Really friendly staff and nice relaxed vibe. Nice location and close to the metro. Good kitchen

Only one shower was hot during my stay. Bar wasn’t very social area.

The staff was absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful. Made the stay awesome!

Could use more seats in common area and maybe more hostel organized social events.

Amazing staff, especially Luis who fixed (free of charge) the fact that I'd booked the wrong dates for my stay - BOTH TIMES! I also had the best sleep of my trip here both times that I stayed at the hostel! 10/10 would recommend to a friend, as shown by the fact that I came back at the end of my trip!!!

Super Staff. Delicious home made bread. Delicious home made cake. I was sick and one of the staff members made some tea for me. Very friendly people. Awesome location. Big property.

It's an old, big house that needs to go under renovation. If you are not too picky, you will be fine. The upsides overcome the downsides.

Location very good, close to metro station Vila Madalena, but not so close to the "point" area. Staff friendly and helpful and clean facilities. I missed the karaoke night there, but seems like they are always coming up with small events.

Just the bed was a bit uncomfortable to jump onto it but doable, the room door didnt have a lock or something so door was always unlocked. I am ok with it but some people might feel unsafe.

- Needs more comfortable seating - Beds are really really old - My bunk was so damn loud whenever I moved - The keypad entry to rooms is annoying - Not enough toilets - Shower rooms are shared

Luis is a legend, such a nice, helpful man. Helped me book internal flights and the owner was really helpful too. They even let me stay for a few hours on my way home. Nice, quiet neighbourhood.

A little bit far from where all the action is in Sao Paolo. More of a gentle, quiet meighbourhood. So if that is what you’re looking for, perfect!

If I can give them 20/10 for this review, my soul, a thousand recommendations, I would, solely due to the honesty of the staff. After misplacing my ipod acting as my camera for my whole trip, with all of my Brazil photos and videos - I thought I lost it. Two weeks after, I get an email from Luis saying that they have found an ipod & tried to piece together who it belonged to!! One of their cleaners have found it and gave it to Luis. It would have been so easy to wipe all data & keep it for their own. But no. They took the time to figure out who it belonged to. You hear so many misfortunes traveling around South America. But my experience with Luis / Cafe Hostel & the successful return of my ipod with all my memories - truly put back my faith in humanity. A hostel can be the most beautiful, most social, great value. But what makes an outstanding & priceless place to be, are the characters of people you meet within the hostel. It's rare to find honest people, especially when you know you will never see them again. Cafe Hostel is a rarity. Truly amazing human beings. Thank you very much, Luis & whoever else found my ipod. The staff were the best part of this hostel. They were so kind and friendly and always happy to help. There was a great kitchen and outdoor areas, a nice common room and a bar. They make some awesome caipirinhas!!!!
